In an opinion piece this week, the Managing Editor at Eugene’s Register-Guard says the newspaper- and its corporate owner- have made a pledge to diversity in staffing and reporting.

The local branch of the NAACP says it’s demanding Springfield Police work to de-escalate community divisions, not add to them by quote-- “pitting one portion of the community against another.” 

There will be no charges against several protesters who entered a Eugene brewery and denounced a local business group earlier this month.

Sunday evening, several community members held signs in a demonstration of mourning for a person shot and killed by Eugene Police at Cascade Middle School last Friday.  Another group of people stood in solidarity for the actions of the EPD.
