Downtown Streets Open After Bomb Threat Found To Be Abandoned Household Item

The Eugene Police Department closed off parts of downtown this morning after a suspicious item was found in front of Chase Bank located on West 11th Avenue and Willamette Street at 7:45 am.

The Metro Explosive Disposal Unit deemed the item to be nonthreatening, and roads were reopened at 9:34 am. EPD Public Information Officer Melinda McLaughlin says the item was an abandoned household cooker.
