Oregon Governor Kate Brown toured the Canyon Creek Complex Fire near John Day Wednesday. The fire continues to grow and is currently the number one fire priority in the nation.

Governor Brown viewed the wreckage of some of the 36 homes that were consumed by the fire last week.

BROWN: "I think Oregonians are willing to step up to the plate and assist this community. But I have to say I know the residents of Grant County they are tough and resilient. They're going to survive and rebuild.

Christie Timco lost her home in in the fire. She attended a meeting with the governor for people who lost property.

Timco: "Well I know her heart goes out to us and she's supportive of the community and she understands that this is a tragedy for the whole community."

More than 600 fire personnel are working to suppress the fire. They expect the rest of the to be challenging as the forecast calls for strong winds and more dry, hot weather.
