A frozen food plant in Albany has closed its doors temporarily after eight employees tested positive for COVID-19. Two other people associated with the employees also tested positive.

The Linn County Public Health Department said in a press release that the company’s owner, National Frozen Foods, had voluntarily halted production and will offer coronavirus tests to other employees who are ill.

Separately, the Oregon Health Authority announced a seventh Linn County death from the coronavirus. The 89-year-old man tested positive on March 15 and died on Wednesday at his residence.
