The Oregon State Women’s basketball team advanced in the NCAA tournament with a Friday night win over Baylor. Aggressive rebounding helped the sixth seeded Beavers (26-7) defeat the No. 2 seeded Lady Bears (33-2) with a final score of 72-67. It was Baylor’s first loss since November.
Marie Gulich had 26 points and Kat Tudor added 16. The Beavers shot 58 percent in the second half. OSU will face top seeded Louisville on Sunday at 9 am for a spot in the Final Four.
This marks Oregon State’s second Elite Eight appearance in three seasons.
Meanwhile No. 2 seed University of Oregon takes on No. 11 Central Michigan Saturday afternoon at 3 pm in Spokane, with hopes of joining OSU in the Elite Eight.
