Two Oregon Airports Get Links To Chicago

United Airlines

Travelers at two Oregon airports will be able to fly non-stop to Chicago starting next summer. United Airlines will add daily flights to Chicago’s O’Hare airport from Eugene and Redmond in early June. The Redmond flight will operate during the summer only, but the Eugene flight will be year-round.

Officials at both airports say it’s the first time Eugene and Redmond have had non-stop flights to Chicago. It’s also the eastern-most destination served by any airline from either city. Eugene Airport director Tim Doll said in a press release that Chicago is "one of the top destinations in demand for the Eugene market."

Redmond Mayor George Endicott said in a statement released by the airport that the new flight "significantly increases travel options for Central Oregon business and leisure passengers." O’Hare is a major hub for United, which serves nearly 200 domestic and international destinations from the airport.

The flights from both Redmond and Eugene will depart shortly before midnight each night, and arrive in Chicago around 5:00 a.m. the next day. The westbound flights both depart Chicago at 7:30 p.m. and arrive at their Oregon destinations just before 10:00 p.m.
