Starting today, Cherriots bus service in Salem will allow passengers to ride fare-free until further notice.
They will also have riders board the bus from the back-door in order to protect drivers. Seniors, people with disabilities, and people with children in strollers can still use the ramp and seats near the front entrance.
People with 30-day passes or month pass holders can contact Cherriots to receive a credit for when the bus returns to normal service.
