The Wilderness Act Turns Fifty

Fifty years ago, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Wilderness Act. Chandra LeGue, Western Oregon Field Coordinator for Oregon Wild, reflects on the law’s successes and challenges, and on Oregon’s meager wilderness protection compared to neighboring states. A week of local events will celebrate the law's fiftieth anniversary.
