Blue Collar Nomad: Jake Kaida and Matthew Tavis Johnson Live at KLCC

Jake Kaida and Matthew Tavis Johnson offer an unusual combination of literature and music through their project Blue Collar Nomad. The book by Jake Kaida is subtitled The Literary Reflections of a Grassroots Pilgrim, and features place-based essays and poems from his years on the road as everything from organic farmhand to mentor for at-risk youth. A soundtrack called Wandering by pianist Matthew Tavis Johnson is being released in parallel to the book, and they’re traveling together weaving words and music live. Before performing at Grassroots Books and Music in Corvallis on Tuesday, October 14th, they’re joined Eric Alan live in the KLCC studios.
