Phusiri Marka is a band from the Chilean Andes, whose name translates as “Town of Wind Players.” They have been performing traditional panpipe, tarka and orquestra music since 1976. Before performing in Beall Hall on the UO campus on Friday, October 24th, a smaller version of the ensemble came to play in the KLCC studios. They were joined by Juan Eduardo Wolf, assistant professor of ethnomusicology at the UO and head of the UO World Music Series.
