State tax incentives for the film and television industry have cleared the Oregon House.

The bill would extend tax breaks for six more years and benefit film and television producers who bring their projects to the state.  Executive Director of the Oregon Film & Television Tim Williams calls the incentives a powerful draw for this lucrative industry.

Williams: "If we needed to attract another T.V. series, for example, they'd often look to see that you'd have 5 years left in your program cause a lot of them want their series to run four or five years"

Williams says there are nearly $150- million being spent in the state this year alone by productions using the tax breaks.

The House's approval of the bill Thursday sends the measure to the Oregon Senate.
