MEDGE Celebrates 25 Years of Belly Dance, from Folkloric to Fusion

  For the past quarter-century, MEDGE—the Middle Eastern Dance Guild of Eugene—has brought Middle Eastern dance and music to the region through performance and education. Their 25^th anniversary gala belly dance performance will include forms from folkloric to fusion, as well as live music by Americanistan, at the Wildish Theater in Springfield on Saturday, March 12^th. MEDGE president Souzana Chapa speaks with Eric Alan about belly dance's origins and evolving forms.
