On the Banks of the Tigris: the Hidden Story of Iraqi Music is an award-winning documentary that follows the journey of exiled Iraqi musician Majid Shokor, as he discovers unexpected cultural roots to the music he loved as a child. Director Marsha Emerman talks with KLCC’s Eric Alan about the ways in which music bridges cultures, and keeps them alive. The film screens for one night only at the Bijou Art Cinemas in Eugene on Thursday, June 15^th.
