The Woman of Salt: Transformation through Opera

When Anice Thigpen came out as gay in a racist, homophobic family in the south, she lost custody of her children and much more. Decades later, she’s transformed her pain via her original chamber opera The Woman of Salt. Its world premiere will be Friday, June 23^rd at the Wildish Theater in Springfield. She speaks to KLCC’s Eric Alan about healing through opera.
