Eugene Springfield Pride Festival Takes Place This Saturday

Vincent Mays

This Saturday, Eugene Springfield Pride Festival will take place at Alton Baker Park.

This is their 28th celebration in Lane County, but it’s the first year they will have a Pride march. The march will begin outside the Spectrum bar at 10 am on Saturday and they’ll go through downtown Eugene, to the festival.

Vince Mays, vice president of Eugene Springfield Pride, says this event is for everyone.

“All are welcome. The LGBTQIA community, their allies, their friends, their family,” says Mays. “It’s an amazing opportunity for the entire LGBTQIA+ community to come and show support for one another and make sure they’re a part of a healthy vibrant Eugene community.”

Mays is aware there is a conservative group planning a pro-Trump rally that day in downtown Eugene, but he doesn’t expect it to affect the Pride event.
