Sheriff Seeks Help In Locating Missing Canoeist

A local man has gone missing while canoeing on the Willamette River. Kenneth Swanson, 62, was last seen Wednesday morning at the Pengra boat launch near Lowell.

He planned to canoe down river and contact friends when he stopped on shore. But, he has not been heard from and his whereabouts are unknown.

Swanson has brown hair, a full beard and was wearing a black jacket and t-shirt with 2 orange personal flotation devices.

His canoe was described as a 4-person aluminum vessel.

The Lane County Sheriff is asking for the public’s help in locating Swanson.
