Douglas Fire Protective Association

Crews got help from cooler temperatures and rain showers in fighting the Days Coffee Fire yesterday.

The 140 acre blaze was sparked Wednesday northwest of Tiller. There are several other smaller fires in the area suspected to be caused by lighting. The Douglas Forest Protective Association reports the Days Coffee Fire’s cause is under investigation. About 70 crews were assigned to the fire Thursday working overnight to dig fire lines on steep slopes.
