Fire and Smoke Delay First Day of School For Rural District

McKenzie School District has again pushed back the start of the school year to Monday, Sept. 11 due to wildfires in the area and evacuations.

The school serves 190 students, K-12. Maintenance crews are installing HEPA filters to improve air quality inside.  Pam Sullivan is school secretary. She says she has never seen conditions like these in 25 years with with district.
