4J School District

Tuesday, Eugene 4J Superintendent Dr. Gustavo Balderas will share the school district’s Vision 20/20 strategic plan. The blueprint was written after 4J received input from community members. KLCC’s Deonna Anderson reports.

4J’s Kerry Delf says over 2,000 community members took a survey about their desires for the schools. From there, about 50 people came together to develop the initial pieces of the strategic plan.

The plan, which is guided by the vision ‘Every Student Connected to Community and Empowered to Succeed,’ has five main goals. They include providing multiple pathways for student success and improving communication with community stakeholders. Delf says each goal has its own objectives and tactics.

“That can be anything from working to modernize the curriculum, the learning materials that students are learning,” Delf says. “There’s things like implementing full schedules for more of our high school students, working to provide better interventions and resources for students who are struggling.”

Parents, students and other community members are invited to learn more at the meeting, taking place at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14 at Kennedy Middle School.
