Contract for 4J’s Interim Superintendent Extended

The Eugene 4J school board Wednesday unanimously approved extending the one-year appointment of Interim Superintendent Cydney Vandercar through next school year.

This is pending board approval of a mutually agreed-upon amended contract. The board is scheduled to vote on the contract on Nov. 18.

This fall the board began the process to select a recruitment firm to help select a permanent superintendent. But on Oct. 21, the board voted to cancel that process. This is in response to the impact of the pandemic on the district, and the need for an extensive recruitment and selection process.
