The use of E-Cigarettes, also known as vaping, is no longer allowed indoors in public places in Oregon. As of January 1st, House Bill 2546, signed last year by Governor Kate Brown, also bans vaping in restaurants, bars, workplaces, and lounges specifically designed for E-Cigarette use.
In an article by the Register-Guard, E-Cigarette store owners expressed concern over the new law, saying without the ability to allow consumers to sample different flavors in the store, many may purchase e-liquid online at a cheaper price. The Oregon Health Authority does allow cigar bars to apply for permits allowing patrons to smoke inside. E-Cigarette use is now regulated as a non-cigar tobacco product.
