All New COVID Cases In Douglas Co. Among Non-Vaccinated, Officials Say

Douglas County health officials say Thursday marked the highest single day of new COVID-19 cases-- since March. They say over the past two weeks, the new cases are all from residents who are not fully vaccinated.

The county reported 24 new positive and presumptive cases Thursday followed by 22 on Friday. There is also worry over the fluctuating, but high rate of hospitalizations. There are currently 16 patients with severe COVID disease in hospitals.

Douglas County just passed the 50% mark for COVID-19 vaccinations in residents 16 and older. Officials urge those who are eligible to get the shot and help prevent spread of the disease
