Amy Frohnmayer Winn, the third daughter of David and Lynn Frohnmayer, died Sunday of complications from a rare disorder. She was 29.
Amy Frohnmayer was born with Fanconi anemia. She is the last of three sisters to die from the complex and chronic disease. Their late father, Dave Frohnmayer, was a past President of the University of Oregon. He founded the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund. On their website, Amy's mother Lynn Frohnmayer wrote:
"It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of a truly beautiful, fierce, and compassionate soul."
Amy Fronhmayer Winn recently completed a second master's degree at Oregon State University in Bend. She married Alex Winn in a hospital room in early June. Amy is survived by her husband, mother, and two brothers, Mark and Jonathan, neither of whom carry the gene that causes the disease.
