The Springfield Police Department is investigating a potential hate crime. KLCC’s Deonna Anderson reports.

Springfield resident Jessi Preston found a Swastika painted on the hood of her car. Preston who has biracial children says the painted symbol struck fear into her and her kids, according the SPD.

Here’s Lt. Scott McKee.

"Since that discovery, we’ve been investigating this as a hate crime, intimidation and criminal mischief,” he says. “We’ve got investigators looking into it from that standpoint."

McKee adds that this seems to be an isolated incident. He says police department asks people who have information about the investigation to call Springfield police.
