West Eugene and Junction City Representative Files To Run Again

Re-Election Campaign

State Representative Val Hoyle has filed for re-election in what would be her third term. The Democrat represents District 14, which includes West Eugene and Junction City.  She was selected to fill the number two position in the chamber for 2013 - House Majority Leader.  Tina Kotek is Speaker of the House, so Oregon is unique among states, as Hoyle points out.

Val Hoyle: “She and I are the only two women that are in the top two positions in any chamber in the country.  So out of the 99 chambers, there’s only one - the Oregon House - where the presiding officer and the Majority Leader are women.”

In the past two years Hoyle has championed the building of an 80-million-dollar state hospital in Junction City and promoted investment in mental health programs.

No other candidate has emerged in the House District 14 race.
