“The Hottest Player in College Basketball is Named Sabrina.” That was the headline for an article this week in the Wall Street Journal, detailing the rise of Oregon point guard and women’s college basketball National Player of the Week, Sabrina Ionescu.

Earlier this month, Ionescu earned her 22nd career triple-double, and last week she became Oregon’s all-time leading scorer. She is about the become the all-time assists leader in the history of the Pac-12- she sits at 938 which ties Gary Payton (Oregon State 1987-1990).

Ionescu and other Duck standouts Ruthy Hebard and Satou Sabally are averaging a combined 49.9 points per game. They’ll face a strong No.7 Oregon State team with the Pac-12’s leading rebounder McKayla Pivec, and Beaver Destiny Slocum who scored a career high 26 points against then No.3 Stanford last week in Corvallis.

And Sabrina isn't the only one making headlines for the No.4 Ducks. Fans have been packing Matthew Knight Arena, and Oregon is now number 1 for attendance, with over 101,000 seats filled this season.

Ducks and Beavers fans will be out in full force this weekend, as both Friday night’s game in Eugene and Sunday’s in Corvallis are sold out.
