A new nonprofit will oversee PeaceHealth’s bike share program, PeaceHealth Rides in Eugene. Cascadia Mobility, a company within Forth Mobility, was selected by the city and will begin operations in May.
The new organization plans to launch and operate similar equitable shared mobility programs across Oregon. Eugene is it’s first city and will serve as a model for Cascadia Mobility's future projects.
Cascadia Mobility CEO Brodie Hylton said there won’t be any significant changes in the short term, but they do have plans for the next few months.
“By the end of summer we hope to have introduced a number of changes, including an expanded equity priced plan, there’s going to be a full scale swap out on all of the bike hardware eventually...so the user experience will be improved and more streamlined,” Hylton said.
The project is partially funded by a grant from the Oregon Department of Transportation and through other partnerships. PeaceHealth will remain a sponsor for the program.
