Lane County Sheriff Will Be On Saturation Patrols For Oregon Country Fair

The Lane County Sheriff has extra patrols on duty in the Veneta area during the Oregon Country Fair through Monday.

Sergeant Carrie Carver says patrols will be highly visible and on the lookout for people driving under the influence of intoxicants, not wearing seatbelts, or distracted driving.

Carver: “What we really want to do is make sure that folks can get in and out of the area easily and that people are driving safely so people can enjoy the country fair and really reduce crashes and injuries related to those crashes.”

Carver says speed limits have been reduced on Highway 126 near Veneta during the fair.

The Sheriff’s office received funding from ODOT and Oregon State Sheriff’s Association for the extra patrols.
