A team of police investigators from Lane County is trying to sort out two shooting deaths Thursday night and Friday on a remote farm deep in the foothills of the Oregon Coast Range.

Police said they shot and killed a person during a dispute in rural northwest Lane County Thursday evening. Another person was arrested for 2nd Degree murder in the case.

Lane County Commissioners have approved raises for several elected officials, including the sheriff and district attorney.

The wildfire started Monday afternoon in the area south of Bodenhamer Road and west of Green Hill Road.
