Lane County and a volunteer auxiliary group, the Lane County Sheriff Mounted Posse, were sued in federal court Tuesday over allegations of racial profiling, assault and civil rights violations.

Spokesperson Tim Wallace said there were fewer issues than usual, attributing the decline to safer driving.

Highway 126 re-opened to traffic Thursday evening.
