As local businesses struggle with the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, officials in Springfield are promoting an event to help support patronage for restaurants, breweries, and coffee shops.

Paige Sharpe of the Springfield Chamber of Commerce says the “Savor Springfield” event began August 1st and runs through the end of September.

“We’ve currently 12 restaurants participating," explained Sharpe.  "You need to visit 10 of them over the next two months. Just tell us who you visited, and we’ll enter you in to win a drawing at the end of the two months.

"We’re trying to get folks out there and supporting our local restaurant community.”

What that prize is, is yet to be determined. This is the third year of “Savor Springfield”, but this time pandemic protocols are being observed, so there’s no passport.

Partners include Travel Lane County and the City of Springfield.   Click hereto see participating restaurants and rules.
