Bethel Superintendent to Retire at the End of the School Year

Bethel School District Superintendent Chris Parra announced her retirement this week, after serving in the position for five years. This comes after the Bethel School Board voted in July to renew her contract through 2023.

Parra has been an educator for 32 years. She is the seventh Bethel Superintendent and the district’s first woman Superintendent.

She will stay with the district through the end of the school year. The Bethel School Board will have an open search for the next Superintendent. This will include forming a search committee, which will seek input from staff and the community. A timeline for naming a new Superintendent has not been decided.
