The University of Oregon plans to resume most in-person classes in fall 2021.

In a letterto the campus community, UO President Michael Schill announced that because higher education faculty and staff are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine as soon as May 1st, he expects a return to predominantly in-person education.

Schill says hundreds of UO employees have already been vaccinated due to their inclusion in the Phase 1-A category.

He says he is "under no illusion that life on campus will be what it was before COVID-19”.

Schill says practices of social distancing, wearing masks and washing hands are expected to continue in the fall.
