Three New Deaths Put COVID-19 Mortality at 26 In Lane County

Lane County Public Health reports 102 new positive COVID-19 cases were identified over the weekend. This brings the total case count to 2,143-- with 215 currently considered infectious. 

The county also announced three more deaths associated with the virus.A 61-year-old man from the Eugene-Springfield area died Oct. 16 and two 89-year-old women -also from the Eugene-Springfield area- died Oct. 17. All three were hospitalized at the time of death.

COVID-19 has taken the lives of 26 Lane County residents, since the start of the pandemic.

Last week (10/16/2020,) Lane County was added to the Governor’s ‘Watch List’ due to broad, sporadic spread of COVID-19.

The novel coronavirus has infected 2,143 Lane County residents as of October 19, 2020.
