Oregon hit yet another grim milestone on Friday. The Oregon Health Authority reports that we’ve surpassed 100,000 cases of COVID-19 statewide. The death toll across the state is 1,304. Here in Lane County, as of Friday, Dec. 18, we have 6,028 cases and 80 people have died.

Meanwhile, the first shipment of vaccines from Pfizer-BioNTech arrived in Oregon this week. Health care workers are first in line to get the vaccine, with people in assisted living facilities next. Dr. Patrick Luedtke, Lane County Senior Public Health Officer, answers listener questions about the vaccine.
