Carl Stolz, Host of KLCC's Blues Power, Dies At 69

KLCC

Carl Stolz, long time host of Blues Power on KLCC, died last week at age 69.

Stolz hosted Blues Power for 20 years, taking over the program in 2000 after the death of Gavin “Rooster” Fox in 1999.  He had a deep knowledge of blues music. The first hour of his show featured early blues music and by the end of the show he was playing more modern tunes.

Ever the consummate host, listeners will remember he would come on the microphone saying, “This is Carl Stolz, at the controls…”

You can read his obituary published in the Register-Guard here.
