April Bringing More Than Showers To Northwest

An unusually wet April storm system is bringing periods of heavy rain to Northwest Oregon Sunday and will continue through Monday evening.

Rainfall totals for portions of the Coast, Coast Range, and Cascades will be around 3 to 6 inches. The South Willamette Valley will see around 4 to 6 inches, with 2 to 4 inches possible in the Central Willamette Valley.

The National Weather Service has issued Flood Watches for the South Willamette valley, the Central Oregon Coast, and Douglas County.

Heavy rain may result in localized urban and small stream flooding across the lower elevations. In addition, minor flooding is also possible along some rivers and creeks in the central and South Willamette Valley. Those Flood Watches are in effect until Monday afternoon at 5pm.
