White House Correspondent April Ryan Keynotes UO's MLK Events

The University of Oregon is celebrating the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. this week. April Ryan, the White House correspondent for American Urban Radio Networks (AURN) delivered the keynote address Tuesday on campus. She’s the author of “The Presidency in Black and White.”  KLCC’s Rachael McDonald spoke with Ryan, who is the only black female White House correspondent covering urban issues.

Rachael McDonald is KLCC’s host for All Things Considered on weekday afternoons. She also is the editor of the KLCC Extra, the daily digital newspaper. Rachael has a BA in English from the University of Oregon. She started out in public radio as a newsroom volunteer at KLCC in 2000.
