From the City Club of Eugene:

Lucy Vinis, Eugene’s mayor joins us once again as she enters her third year of office.  In her State of the City Address on January 3rd she outlined four major priorities:

  1. Homelessness and housing
  2. Climate resiliency
  3. Public engagement
  4. Inclusiveness

Since then the Council has held some 15 work sessions, 6 regular meetings and one workshop (with two cancelled by snowstorm) to work on these and other issues facing the City. What will she have to report on her progress thus far?  Have other priorities arisen since?
Prior to her election, Ms. Vinis was Development Director of Shelter Care after a varied and diverse career including owning and managing a berry farm in Virginia. Her degrees are also diverse – including a B.A. in Religion from Kenyon College, an M.A. in Near Eastern Studies from the University of Michigan, and an M.S. in Entomology from the University of Maryland.
