Voters Reject Lane County Courthouse Bond

The Lane County Courthouse bond failed, 58% - 41% on Tuesday.

Lane County sent out a press release acknowledging that a majority of voters did not support the bond measure. It would have cost 27 cents per $1000 assessed value for homeowners and raised $154 million.  County officials were hoping to receive $94 million of state funds to make up the $252 million projected cost of the new courthouse building.

Lane County officials may try again to get a bond passed if the state funds are still available.
