A discount for phone or high-speed internet service has been extended for qualifying Oregonians.
The Oregon Public Utility Commission says originally set to expire December 30th, the discount now lasts until June 30th.
The commission got $3.5 million in federal Coronavirus Relief Fund money for its Oregon Lifeline Program. Meant to offset hardships incurred by the pandemic, recipients receive a $12 per month discount.
Oregonians need to be on public assistance programs such as SNAP or Medicaid to qualify, or if their household income is at -or below- 135 percent of federal poverty guidelines.
