Heather Buch Elected To The Lane County Board of Commissioners

Lane County voters elected progressive candidate Heather Buch to the Board of Commissioners. She challenged incumbent Gary Williams to represent eastern Lane County on the board.

Buch tells KLCC housing affordability is an important issue she’d like to work on.
“I think we need a lot more collaboration, a lot of parties coming to the table, and say, okay, let’s get the job done. Let’s find every tool that we’ve got.” Buch says, “But if we’re not engaging and making sure everybody’s talking with eachother and collaborating effectively, then, with that, I know that we can find some solutions.”

Buch will the only woman on the five-person Lane County Board of Commissioners.
Gary Williams was appointed to the board after Faye Stewart retired.
