Last-Minute Push For Voters Comes To The University Of Oregon

The University of Oregon hosted a “Get Out the Vote” rally Monday in the final hours of the campaign season.

A who’s who among Democratic politicians fired up the crowd, including Governor Kate Brown and Congressman Peter DeFazio.

Younger voters in general lean Democratic, but also don’t turn out to the polls as much.  That concerns Manon Murphy, a junior at the U of O.

Governor Kate Brown applauds speakers at today's "Get Out the Vote" rally at the University of Oregon.

“People need to understand that older people are voting, and if we don’t vote then they’re going to win," she tells KLCC.

"So that’s why I’m here, and that’s why I’m voting.”

For their part, the Lane County GOP recently held a panel promoting the Trump-GOP tax plan, and have a new office in Springfield for volunteers and campaign materials, at least through Election Day.

Ballots are due by 8pm Tuesday.
