The March begins at 9:45 am, heading west on Martin Luther King Blvd into Alton Baker Park, through the Nobel Peace Park, over the deFazio Bridge, onto the bike path and onto High Street, culminating at the Shedd Institute. The Celebration begins at 11:00 at the Shedd and includes music, a dramatic reading, and a keynote speaker. A panel discussion will expand on the theme "Together we are unified" by connecting MLK Day and Day Without an Immigrant. Several local immigrants will talk about what their experiences.
Non-perishable food donations will also be gathered outside the Shedd
Participants can come for the March and the Celebration at the Shedd, or come just for the Celebration. Those wishing to walk only part of the route can park at Alton Baker Park and join the Marchers at the Nobel Peace Park between 10:00 and 10:15 am.
