Paying for Our Roads AND Reducing Air Pollution: Online & In-Person Discussion
Join the Emerald Valley Electric Vehicle Association (EVEVA) to learn about and discuss the impact of the 2025 transportation bill on road maintenance and vehicle pollution.
The Oregon Legislature voted to impose a Road Usage Charge (RUC) on electric vehicles beginning in 2027 that will punish EV owners and reward gas cars with poor mileage ratings. Charlie Loeb from EVEVA will explain the problems with the RUC; Rep. Mark Gamba (Milwaukie), chair of the Legislature's Environmental Caucus, will describe his proposal to improve funding for road maintenance; and Brett Morgan from Climate Solutions will offer his perspective on how the 2026 Legislature can better support the transition to electric transportation.
