Radiant Community Arts: Love Letters to the World Installation Opening

Radiant Community Arts: Love Letters to the World Installation Opening
A new installation show at Radiant Community Arts (Radiant) aims to spread love to the world and connect the community together. Love Letters to the World will feature several large scale and multimedia displays of letters sharing love for anything, anyone, or any place.
Radiant put out the call love letters to anything in June and have been collecting letters from as far away as Pennsylvania, Arizona, and California. We also placed decorated collection boxes at MECCA, Community Cup Café, Dandelion Bookstore, Eugene Pride Festival and The Oregon Country Fair. People write letters to their partners and loved ones, to coffee and clouds, and to every human on the earth.
Exhibition visitors will also be able to add their love letters to the project while at the gallery. The center of the gallery features a large paper mâché tree, with letters hanging from the branches.
Mija Andrade, the exhibition's designer and manager, states, "We felt it would be an important community project to spread much needed love to the world. We've had people write letters to the children of Palestine, to their pets and spouses, and to clouds and trees. We're very excited to share this installation,” This will be Andrade's final art show in Eugene before her relocation to Mexico.
The installation is co-designed by artist David Prince, adding another layer of creative vision to the project.
"Love Letters to the World" promises to be a heartwarming and thought-provoking experience that celebrates the power of love and connection in our community and beyond.
Radiant Community Arts’ mission is to increase access to the arts to strengthen communities. Radiant offers a variety of creative classes and workshops open to all adults and hosts exhibitions for the community in our gallery.
