Welcoming Our New Neighbors!
Refugee & Immigrant Services Nonprofit Hosts Annual Fundraiser
EUGENE – Catholic Community Services of Lane County (CCS), a critical nonprofit working to prevent homelessness and provide refugee and immigrant services in our community, is preparing to host its annual fundraiser to support the Refugee & Immigrant Services Program (RISP). Welcoming Our New Neighbors will take place on November 14, at 6 p.m., at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Eugene. CCS leadership is inviting the Eugene-Springfield community to hear inspiring stories and support the nonprofit’s important work. Tickets are available for purchase online at https://www.ccslc.org/wonn2024
RISP partners with the Refugee Resettlement Coalition of Lane County (RRC), to welcome newcomers from around the world and to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment in Lane County. Teams of dedicated professionals and volunteers work tirelessly to ensure that those fleeing persecution or seeking a better life have the support they need to integrate successfully into our community.
“We served over 400 individuals in the last year. This includes welcoming refugees, people arriving from the southern border, and other immigrants, as well as providing legal services to new Oregonians. These individuals and families bring diverse experiences, skills, and cultures that strengthen our community. We invite you to come learn how refugees and asylum seekers are being welcomed to Lane County and how you can get involved.” ~ Christine Zeller-Powell, RISP Program Director
