Police Want Your Reports Online

You don’t need a police officer any more to file a police report. The Eugene Police Department now allows citizens to file them online.

Robberies, traffic complaints, graffiti, crime tips. Gone are the days when you have to wait for a police officer to arrive with pen and paper to report crimes like this.

EPD releasedthis videoto encourage people to use the internet to file reports. The online form is simple and provides definitions and examples for each step.
Reporting online saves time for citizens and police. EPD says officers are able to spend more time addressing community needs when citizens fill out their own reports.
Online reporting has been available for a few years, but more and more people are discovering and using it. Forms submitted online get the same attention and investigation as regular police reports.
..”you go to the Eugene Police website, click on report a crime. It's cool!"
For citizens without internet, the Library offers public computers with a link set up to the system.
