Registered Sex Offender Arrested In Eugene On New Charges Of Sex Abuse
A registered sex offender from Eugene has been arrested on allegations he sexually abused a teenage girl and gave her alcohol and marijuana.
Oregon State Police received information this week from the 15-year-old victim that she had been sexually abused and provided with booze and pot. She told detectives that 55-year-old Melvin "Bud" Richard Stout Jr. of Eugene gave her the intoxicants on more than one occasion. One of those times was at a party in the Crow area in June.
Investigators say stout exchanged sexually explicit photographs with the victim and sexually abused her the night of the June party. Police arrested Stout Thursday at his home in Eugene. He was lodged at the Lane County Jail on charges including first degree sex abuse, online sexual corruption and endangering the welfare of a minor.
Stout is a registered sex offender in Oregon stemming from a 1996 conviction of first degree sex abuse. Oregon State Police are asking for any other possible victims to please come forward. If you have additional information, please contact Detective Eli Chambers at (541) 726-2536 ext. 221.
