Eugene police are investigating an officer-involved shooting at around 4 A.M. Wednesday near the intersection of East 15th Avenue and Pearl Street.
According to the Eugene Police Department, an officer performed a stop on two suspicious males at 3:57 A.M. One fled and was pursued on foot. Another officer arrived on scene to find the second suspect stealing the first officer’s car and shots were fired by the second officer.
No injuries are reported. The stolen car was quickly located a couple blocks away. Both suspects are in custody. A few streets in the area of the crime scene are still blocked off. Travelers are asked to avoid the area. The closure is estimated to last until at least mid-morning.
