An incident Thursday at the University of Oregon has resulted in an arrest, according to the UO Police Department. The police and Eugene/ Springfield fire responded to a fire alarm at the Knight Law Center early in the morning

They did not find a fire, but upon reviewing security footage, they saw someone pull the alarm. The person was holding a gun and acting erratically inside the building. With help from officers with Springfield, Junction City and a Lane County Sheriff’s drone team they searched the building . This meant the Law Center was off limits to the public. Then UOPD got multiple 911 calls about other incidents around campus. Police say they traced the calls to Hamilton Hall where an armed suspect was holding two students in a room. Shawn Scott Densmore was taken into custody.

The 37 year old, who is not affiliated with the University, was arrested and charged with menacing, criminal trespass, kidnapping and other charges. The investigation is ongoing.
